When you don't have time and energy for your baby, what do you do?

Babies can be difficult.

You're tired, washed-out, just deadbeat.

You may have so much at work. Groceries. Or dare I mention...Housework.

Your baby's going through another sleep regression. Teething. Sickness. The list goes on.

Your baby may have kept you up last night. You're probably nodding off, and praying that your baby doesn't run away.

You're hoping he stops whining so that you have a moment of rest.

Traveling can be hell.

Now that you're traveling on planes, in buses, you need something portable. Quick in, quick out. You really don't want to be picking up puzzle pieces on the floor.

Or you're scared about what toy you can bring on planes. Metal parts? Sharp objects?

You'd hate to give your child the phone.

Sure you can give your child the phone, but you know that causes long term addiction. Yet there just seems no better option.

You're scared he becomes sedentary. Glued to the screen.

As parents, you're just trying your best.

But you have to keep everything together. Your job. The baby. The house, the meals, the bills.

The baby's healthcare appointments. Yours too.

It can be crazy to be a parent. That's why many choose not to.

But you've chosen differently. You've chosen to have a baby.

It's not fair though. There aren't many toys out there that can help.

Most toys are...

  • Expensive. Toystores ask for $100, for a fancy looking toy, that you know your child will lose interest with quickly.
  • Nice to look at, but with NO clear educational value.
  • Built with NO clear development of skills. Most toys and screens simply have passive engagement. Your child sits there, looks at the flashing lights and music, and continues sitting.

We believed there could be a different toy that was fun, educational, and easy to carry.

We didn't believe the conventional wisdom that toys had to be all about looks.

cost of buying a house in Singapore

As a parent, I was frustrated with what I saw in the market.

So I made something different.

Training of cognitive and motor skills

It takes time for toddlers to speak and the more independent the child, the more he will be willing to try and try again when he struggles.

Babies copy what adults do and are eager to learn practical things. QuirkBee uses items from daily life to make your child grow in useful skills.

Interchangeable toys within

We were sick and tired of having to buy more and more toys, spending more money, and having to throw away perfectly good toys.

We created a base consisting of one folder, and 5 boards, that parents could buy for their child, and then buy add-ons.

Ultra-portable, ultra-easy to pass security

Packed in a delightful folder, you can open whilst your child is waiting for his food, and pack it up almost immediately.

And don't worry about airport security. We made them airport-fuss-free.

Don't want to pick up your children's toys? Ah, your baby will love this so much that he will pack it up himself, carrying it around like his very own briefcase.

About the inventor

Hi,

I'm Stéphanie.

For 9 years, I worked as a researcher scientist, including 6 years on the cutting edge of technology, developing new products.

Then I found myself being a mom.

Everything changed. My career was put on hold.

About Me.

I love handcraft, working with different materials (plastic, wood, textile), and different tools (sewing, sawing, engraving, etc.)

Having the chance to see my first baby grow, observing what she was interested in and liked to play with was actually what we did as adults - like locks, latches and doors.

I struggled to keep my baby entertained and patient.

In the car, in the plane. Whenever there was was waiting time.

After getting more and more toys, I started wondering what would be the best way to get her to develop skills, getting more independence and self-confidence, with less frustration.

Above all, as she wasn’t able to express herself yet, she craved for constant learning.

That’s when I found “busy boards” as the best option but found them pretty expensive, inconvenient to carry around and the items not really what she would play with.

I decided to make one myself, something we could travel and pass security without any worry.

The first time I offered it to my baby was in the plane on the way down to Phuket and she was starting crying loudly. She immediately calmed down and kept focused until landing, not making any single noise, that could disturb other passengers as well.

You don't have to go through hell on holiday, or that nice meal.

When we came back from holiday, I was surprised when she opened the milk bottle in the fridge to drink!

I kept improving the design over the months. Today she knows that’s her bag, will always be curious to open it, above all when we are on the way as she knows there will always be something new.

Your child won't get bored.

With many different sensory items within, this is the perfect way to keep your child entertained.

Give your child the best gift this Christmas.

FAQ

How soon can I get this?

We are open for preorders now. If you order today, you should get it in 6 weeks, by 16 January 2023. After 16 Jan 2023, you will get it delivered within 7 days of ordering.

How can I keep my baby safe whilst he plays with this?

Even though we make our products as safe as possible, we recommend that you keep your child under close supervision whilst he's using the toy.

For example, items below 3cm in diameter and 6cm in length that may be choking hazards are attached to the board in such a way that they can't be removed and put in the mouth.

Why did you build this toy?

When we saw the toy market out there, we were struck by just how expensive everything was! We decided that there could and should be something cheaper. But we also wanted to help our own babies, to be entertained, whenever they travelled. Our babies have fallen in love with the toy we've created, and still come to us whenever we are working to see if we have any new things in store.

Where did the name QuirkBee come from?

We wanted to create a name that babies could say too. Putting together the word 'Quirky' and 'Bee', we came up with QuirkBee. Bee represents the dynamic nature of the toy, which we hope will set children alight like a bee! We hope this toy will also be a quite a 'quirky' thing for babies, which constantly engages them.
